The Working Man

Today, as I pondered endlessly about my future and of life's futility, I was reminded of the lyrics to one of my favorite songs:

Once upon a time there was love in my life
But now there's only love in the dark
There's nothing I can say
A total eclipse of the heart

However, these lyrics had nothing to do with my current situation. Bonnie Tyler is just a genius and "Total Eclipse of the Heart" is a breathtaking masterpiece of epic proportion. Some might think that having the words to the Welsh singer's number one hit stuck in their head would be a bad thing, it made me realize that perhaps there is more to life than finding a job in finance. Perhaps this recession was a sign that I am not meant to find employment and that it is my destiny to own a chain of cupcake stores or to become a movie/television titan. Or perhaps I, along with many of my fellow students, are as unlucky in life as Ms. Tyler was with love.

Some things never change, but sometimes if you wish hard enough, you just might roll the hard six.

You know you love me. XoXo.

I foresee you in the future, or should I say the past, as a renowned gladiator of ancient Rome. "Purr, Tiger, purr!"
